We gave Midnight the name Tuli (Too-lee), from the Greek gatouli, which means male kittycat.
The first 24 hours he stayed in the room we prepared for him, hiding behind the very little furniture there, and even slept outside his bed. The good points? He never lost his appetite, and he used his kitty litter properly and with no issues. He also never stopped purring when we would feed him and give him pets and scratches.
On his second day, he was already curious about the rest of the house, but still very scared.
From the third day on, we saw he was uppity and decided to let him explore the house on his own. So we just left his door open to do his thing. Although still very shy and very sensitive to noises, he went around a bit.
He has slowly been warming up to our house and us ever since. He is now spending time with us in the living room, sometimes joining us in watching sci-fi shows and even plays with small knick-knacks and toys we made for him. He also scours around the house like a gentleman, causing no issues whatsoever, being curious, and always kind and thoughtful. He also has a lot of nicknames: Batman, Dust Bunny, Voidling, and a few others, all made up by how silly he acts sometimes.
