Sir Winston (Churchill)

27 juni 2024

He is doing a bit better every day! We still call him (Sir) Winston and a variety of other cute nicknames.

In the first days he was hiding and we barely saw him, he only came out at night to eat. After five days he started to cry at the door because he wanted to go and explore so we let him out (strongly monitoring the other cats of course).

He’s explored the house and he’s seeking company with everyone. I think he’s got a crush on the other Siamese cat, he’s following her everywhere and calls for her when she’s not in sight. There’s been some occasional hissing when he got too touchy but no violent fighting Yesterday evening all three were peacefully napping together within 2 metres in the living area, so I think it’s going well!

He was on the balcony for the first time on the weekend and enjoyed himself (we watched him like a hawk from the distance and there’s a net). He also played catching rope with us for the first time a few days ago, really nice to see him like that.

We haven’t tried touching him, he’s still a bit sceptical of humans. But he gets a bit more approachable every day, already sleeps under our bed, and I think in a few weeks or months he might come by himself to ask for a cuddle. Let’s see!

Overall he’s a beautiful cat and I think he’s doing great! No regrets 🙂
